Secret Santas do not seek media coverage but recognize and appreciate its power and value

If it were not for the media, the role of Secret Santa Leaders would be less effective and the heart warming stories of lives touched would not be shared with the community. For this reason, Secret Santas welcome media coverage from established professional news organizations under the following two conditions:

  • Anonymity of Secret Santa is assured.
  • Sharing the stories of recipients gained from the reporters' interviews with Secret Santa.

After years of Secret Santa activity and established relationships with members of the media, we have learned to trust in the professional standards and ethics of the reporters we have had the privilege of working with.

For over fifteen years, Larry Stewart's identity was kept secret by the media professionals covering his story. Beginng in 2006, the stories of a few new Secret Santa Leaders were expertly covered in both print and TV. Today their anonymity continues to be maintanied by trusted media professionals covering Secret Santa stories.

The mission of the Society of Secret Santas seems to work best when covered by established news organizations and reporters who understand the value of the human spirit exemplified in the story and the power of sharing that story with the community.
