Secret Santa World
elf
ELF was a term the original Secret Santa coined around 2005 as a parlay from Santa Claus’s elves. It stands for Ever Lasting Friend. It was an honor to be an ELF and even greater honor to be given a red beret with ELF stitched on it. ELFs help organize sleigh rides, function as Santa’s eyes and ears for special situational needs, and protect his identity. Everyone seemed to know that if you wear the red beret, you rode with Secret Santa. The ELFs are always by Secret Santa’s side.
Today the honor of ELF has been bestowed on more than eighty individuals throughout the United States. The group includes law enforcement officers, firefighters, physicians, journalists, CEOs, lawyers, celebrities, attorney generals, Navy SEALs, Army Rangers, photographers, painters, elected officials, and a few other assorted professions. ELFs all have one thing in common and that is an abundance of kindness in our hearts. ELFs pledge to make random acts of kindness part of their daily life, protect the anonymity of Secret Santa, and be willing to come to the aid of a fellow ELF if ever in need.
Every Secret Santa is first and foremost an ELF.
